About Layers
Layers is building the infrastructure layer for the global circular fashion supply chain, connecting secondhand clothing graders and raghouses in Pakistan to buyers worldwide. We standardise supply, QC, processing and consolidated logistics under one platform. This role sits at the heart of that mission — turning raw raghouse supply into commercially relevant womenswear and Y2K stock that international clients actually want to buy.
The Role
Layers is looking for a commercially minded and highly operational Category Manager to lead the development and performance of our womenswear category. You'll oversee curation across approximately 25 raghouse partners, manage and train curation teams, work directly with key clients, and make sure we consistently source the right styles, volumes and quality of stock.
This is a full-ownership role. You'll run womenswear from supply access and curation all the way through to client satisfaction and commercial growth — deciding what to prioritise, holding raghouses and curators accountable, and building the systems that let the category scale beyond 25 partners.
You won't wait for stock to appear. You'll actively work with suppliers, KAMs and curation teams to create greater access to the styles clients demand, while managing both the creative side (trends, aesthetics, Y2K knowledge) and the analytical side (acceptance rates, pricing, forecasting and profitability). You report to the Head of Supply / Senior Management.
What you'll do
Own the Womenswear Category
- Own the strategy, development and performance of the womenswear category end to end.
- Identify the styles, brands, categories, sizes and trends Layers should prioritise, and build out commercially relevant Y2K categories.
- Decide which categories to expand, reduce, test or discontinue based on real customer demand.
- Maintain a clear view of category opportunities, risks and supply gaps.
Lead and Grow Curation Teams
- Manage curation teams across approximately 25 raghouses, setting daily targets, quality standards and clear expectations.
- Monitor productivity, accuracy and stock acceptance rates, and identify high- and low-performing curators.
- Onboard and train new curators with structured programmes, practical assessments and close early monitoring.
- Build senior curators and team leaders who can supervise individual locations and maintain consistent standards.
Train and Calibrate on Style
- Develop visual and written curation guidelines and reference libraries of accepted and rejected styles.
- Train teams on Y2K womenswear — brands, silhouettes, materials, eras and emerging trends.
- Run regular calibration sessions and convert client feedback into practical training.
Manage Clients and Supply
- Work directly with key womenswear clients, translating subjective requests into clear sourcing and curation instructions.
- Present stock opportunities and category plans, and manage expectations on availability, pricing and lead times.
- Work with Supply KAMs to secure greater access to womenswear stock and build backup supply for high-demand categories.
- Hold raghouse partners accountable, develop improvement plans, and recommend where to add demand, training or replacement.
Drive Commercial and Operational Performance
- Own category-level revenue, gross profit, buying costs and margin, preventing selection of stock that is trendy but hard to sell profitably.
- Forecast demand by category, style, quality, size and price, and allocate it across raghouses by strength.
- Work with QC to maintain physical quality standards while keeping style curation distinct from grading checks.
- Build dashboards, reporting and standardised processes that let the category scale beyond 25 partners.
Enable Sales
- Train the Sales team on target customer profiles, key categories, styles and terminology.
- Create category guides, product mixes and client-facing materials, and join key client calls where expertise is required.
- Provide accurate stock, pricing, volume and lead-time information, and prevent overpromising on categories that can't be fulfilled.
What we're looking for
- 3–5 years in fashion, buying, category management, merchandising, sourcing, vintage clothing or womenswear.
- Strong knowledge of womenswear, Y2K fashion and international resale and vintage trends.
- Experience managing or training product selection, buying or curation teams across multiple locations.
- Strong commercial judgement with a solid grasp of pricing, margins and category performance data.
- Strong client-facing skills and the ability to translate subjective style requirements into clear instructions.
- Professional working proficiency in English and Urdu, comfortable visiting raghouses and warehouses, and thriving in a fast-moving startup.
- Experience in used clothing, wholesale, international fashion resale, textile sorting or export supply chains is highly advantageous.
What you'll get
- Competitive compensation and bonus
- Health insurance
- A fun startup culture
- Sleek vintage stock to transform your wardrobe
- Full ownership of a category from supply access through to client growth
- Direct access to founders and senior management, with real authority to shape how Layers scales
